10th April 2009: Community Cake Sale. Many thanks to all the cooks, customers, cubs, scouts and helpers who made this event a big success. Despite the rain, there were plenty of happy customers and all the goodies were gone by 11 o'clock. A particular thank you to Tony and Sara Finn for taking on the organisation of the event and Kevin Baker, who did a courageous job of protecting the stock from a herd of killer donkeys who made regular sorties through the village. Also a big thank you to the Foresters' pub for lending us their gazebo and Phil and Judith Codd for their usual stalwart support . An initial count put the profits at £91.15 towards group funds.
